We hope this finds you all well as we work our way out of the lockdown and return to some level of business as usual.
To all of our past delegates and our fantastic sponsors, the committee would like to extend our huge thanks for your loyalty to the event, often measured in decades, and without which the event would not be the success it is.
It is therefore with huge regret that we write to you informing you that the committee feels there is no real option but to cancel the 2020 event, with the plan to be back together for a huge celebration around the same time of year in 2021, still in Auckland.
Obviously this decision has been taken with real reticence but with the effects of Covid-19 touching each and all of us, and the wider implications the virus has had on the Tertiary sector and our wider community, we agreed there was really no choice. The postponement of the event until later in the year, or early next year, was carefully considered but it was concluded that, with limited clarity on when it would be appropriate to hold an event later this year or early next, and constraints of availability for venues and other resources, that cancellation was the only sensible option.
What we can assure you is that planning has already commenced for the 2021 event, and whilst we are a couple of weeks away from precise dates, it will be at the same time of year, and still in Auckland, jointly hosted by the local institutions.
We look forward to seeing you all there, and to the continued support we know you will all want to give.
