The Aotearoa Tertiary AI Network (ATAIN) un-conference is focused on the future of learning and teaching, and the human and technological capabilities that underpin it, in the evolving age of AI. 

As an un-conference, the agenda and focus for the day will be set by the attendees, but key themes for the day will include: 

  • Developing values-driven capabilities and education approaches to AI 
  • Reconceptualising New Zealand-based education in the age of AI
  • Responses and strategies to institutional change in New Zealand Universities 

This event will begin with registration at 9am with the un-conference starting at 9:30am. 

The day will also include a keynote speaker and knowledge-sharing opportunities. More information on the schedule will be provided closer to the conference.  

Lunch, caffeine, and networking opportunities will also be provided! 


Learning Environments Community Day

Join us for the 2026 Learning Environments community day! This year we are joining with the Aotearoa Tertiary AI Network (ATAIN) to hear some great keynotes, network, and discuss key areas and advancements in learning and teaching digital environments. This year, with a huge focus on data, security, and learner success, areas of discussion will include: 

  • Architectural responses to strategic learning environments, including MotarCAPS and Total Learning Architecture
  • Responses and strategies to institutional change in New Zealand Universities
  • Current state and constraints in digital learning and teaching

This event will begin with registration at 10am, and then beginning with a keynote presentation with ATAIN at 11am. After lunch, we will start the community day networking session.

Lunch, and networking opportunities will also be provided! 


AETM Regional Chapter Meeting

After the success of the AETM Regional Chapter Meetings in 2025, the Aotearoa/New Zealand Regional Chapter Meeting will return on Monday 24 August 2026 at Victoria University of Wellington, prior to the Tertiary ICT Conference 2026. 

This meeting is managed separately from TICT2026 and the other Pre-Conference Activities. For further information, including registration details and any associated costs, please visit the AETM website. Registrations are expected to open in early July
